The Danish Railway Museum
Exciting and rewarding experiences for the whole family
Experience the history of Denmark’s railways in the authentic roundhouse from 1954. We have 21 tracks featuring iconic engines and carriages. Look inside the royal carriages, experience travelling first class and see Denmark’s oldest preserved steam engine from 1868. You can enter many of the Museum’s engines and carriages. You can sit on the old wooden seats or stand in the driver’s cab of a steam locomotive. We provide an exciting and rewarding outing for the whole family. Visit the Children’s Railway Station – a model railway station big enough for children to explore. Do also make a visit to the play area which provides ample opportunity for children of all ages to play with trains and tracks. There is access to many of the child-sized engines and carriages. Large outdoor Play and Learn Area with a huge steam engine and water tower in which children can explore on their own. New model railway which is brought alive with mini-trains and child-sized historical railway environments. The mini-train runs every day, either indoors or outdoors. All activities are free once you have paid the entrance fee.
